Noches Tropicales is a free concert series presented four times annually at Tropical Park celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Hispanic music and dance. Bring your blanket, chairs and a picnic and enjoy an evening of music and dance under the stars. Next series begins in October 2012!
In the Company of Women
Since 1989, men and women have gathered to honor the outstanding achievements of women throughout Miami-Dade County during the annual In The Company of Women event. This popular and prestigious event serves as part of Women's History Month, observed annually in March. The event has received recognition from the National Association of Counties and the Southern Region of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.
The evening of celebration, with an average attendance of 300, features a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, and the presentation of awards. Award winners are from various professions: Arts & Entertainment, Business & Economics, Communications & Literature, Education & Research, Government & Law, Health & Human Services, Science & Technology, Sports & Athletics.
The Miami-Dade County Mayor will recognize one outstanding woman leader with the Mayor's Pioneer Award. The Pioneer Award honors a woman who has proven leadership, creativity, and vision in addressing community issues in Miami-Dade County within the past 10 years.
